Conversation between Account Director, VP Products and CEO. One wants to be extremely transparent with partners by sharing vendor names. One wants to ensure vendor name is never disclosed. The partner may go to the vendor and start working directly.
Each has their valid viewpoint. None is right, none is wrong over here. Its just perspective.
My perspective in this topic is very clear. Always have transparency. That’s how and why successful partnerships can thrive. It has always been like that from the very early days.
How transparent are you with your partner? You do not need to tell me. Write it down yourself. Come back to it after a year. See have things improved? This approach has really worked wonders for me. Try it out.
Partnerships are the building blocks of how the modern economy works. Everything is connected. In your personal life, you have a partnership with your wife/girlfriend. With your family. With friends. Observe deeply on the ones which has grown over time. You will start noticing a recurring pattern. Both or multiple partners associated in that relationship has been very transparent in communication.
That is why whenever situations arrive where proof is required, the relationship is never in question, why a task was not done properly and how both parties can come together to solve for the problem can be discussed on.
That’s how in my opinion, successful partnerships are forged. By transacting on trust.
