Few months back I was at a meet up in a friends house. I tried to spark a thought experiment.
“We can each use a maximum couple of words to describe each other. Up for it?” – I looked eagerly on the reaction from my friends in the 6 by 6 ft room, decorated with 2 massive hand drawn paintings.
I described Maverick as extremely creative and adamant. 3 of us were catching up on a Sunday evening. I got described as ‘perseverance’.
That describes me well. Not in all situations, but when it comes to work. Yes, perseverance does describe me well.
As I was recollecting that evenings memories, I was asking to myself. What is it that I have not persevered enough? Networking. Active networking. That is genuinely something I have not put much thought and effort in.
Network effects play a vital role in distribution. Once a critical threshold is crossed growth becomes exponential. In my personal journey I see my next big leap is networking. That’s the next hurdle I need to pass.
With that context, I need to document my journey on what I am doing so that I can network well. I have personally by various experiences learnt a lot of functions, from sales, to marketing to product. But never ever PR function. This is a function which I have never worked upon.
I want to work on just that vertical. Public Relations. How co-incidental. It all comes down to; how I had explained, as a head of family, your function is in PR. One day I will share screenshots of that story I had written.
