Background of me, what do I sell now? What can I sell in the future?
This is a question that I have been having lately. It’s a boon and curse situation. I can come up with ideas and execute them to scale small businesses ranging from 1CR to 5CR. After many a days of staring blankly at mango tree just outside my study window it dawned on me, the thing I want to sell is stories. I want to go into book publishing space. I like writing, I want to get the word out there. What better way than a book. Especially business related story books. With practical explainations. Milestone gives me the perfect platform to observe things very keenly, put in great operational systems for further optimizations.
Because when I ask myself this question (and you should ask yourself this question too).. what do I sell? I awlways go back to my trusted example of why selling happens because of positioning. FRom as early as you are born till the time you are on your death bed, about to be burnt in ashes or burried one would be buying things. From a daiper for kids to stationery when he becomes a toddler to the one person needing medicines. Each and every stage of life would require different kind of services for which money transaction would happen. What if you are that trusted advisor to that person? You now have opportunity to sell different things at different stages of his/her life.
From that perspective my stories that I would be writing in various different places should do 1 thing for me. Positioning. Positioning me as an individual who looks at the business world differently. His early exposure to natural world based optimizations to solve combinatorial problems provide him with a unique framework. His family traditions of upholding honesty has made him share stories that are unpopular yet needed to be shared. A person who loves to hear stories and share them.
So yes, that’s what I am going to share. Stories. I guess these small articles are like practice sessions. I’ve heard practice makes a man perfect. Right now I am practising on 2 fronts.
1. Revenue Making – Work through which more money can get generated
2. Time Spent – Being more mindful of how I spend my time. This is where I spend money to buy time. (I had created a long video, in the last section I talk about this concept of life being black and white. If you like reading these, you may like watching my video.
